If you can find one grab it, you won't be disappointed. I recently ran a Boss- ME 70 through the Mosvalve and it is incredibly warm and punchy.

Everything else sounds sterile in comparison. I still own a Mosvalve 962 that is like new. Butler stopped producing this line I moved to Mesa Boogie. I used Tubeworks and Mosvalve exclusively for years. Butler designed, tested and built the Tubeworks line for tone and dependability. *The Mosvalve 962 is arguably the most musical sounding power amp ever built. I wish id bought one for myself back then. Really nice tone with a good clean channel and a very good drive channel. It had 1(?) removable panel so that you could have one speaker closed back and one open backed. My favorite version is the 100 watt vertical 2x12 combo amp. The following are reviews and comments from others familiar with these: *I sold several of these Tube Works amps when I worked in retail from 88 to 92. NOTE: This amp is destined to become a classic.

Two channel operation plus a foot-switchable "stack" function in Channel 1 gives versatility of 3 channels. This allows higher volume levels at closer proximity to the cabinet, as well as a much "fatter" sound in close quarters. Continuous anti-feedback circuitry eliminates over 60% of the typical “squeal" or HF screech apparent in many amps.Tubes typically will not have to be replaced for 2-3 years under normal conditions. BK Butler is the pioneer of low voltage designs for vacuum tubes. Lower plate voltages insure greatly extended tube life.DC filament operation of preamp tubes to eliminate the common tube hum caused by conventional (and cheaper) AC designs. We reject over 50% of the tubes we receive from our suppliers. Tubes are individually hand and ear checked for low microphonics and hum. Two channel operation plus a foot-switchable "stack" function in Channel 1 gives versatility of 3 channels. Highlights: Same renowned reverb as Fender, full-sized Accutronics® spring reverb, type 4 Front panel "Mix" control allows mixing of processed signal ("wet") from the input of the effects loop and the original ("dry") pre-effect signal. Also favored by Eric Johnson & Buck Dharma with Blue Oyster Cult. For an idea of the sound, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top has several of these & used them on many hits. Designed & built by BK Butler, a pioneer in electronic design refinements which were incorporated into these amps. I’ve decided it’s time to scale back & find other homes for most of my gear. The point being, I’ve tried most every amp made & this is a favorite, one of the best and (until now) one of my few keepers. This is one of 4 I’ve considered my own, part of my collection. As some know, I’ve had experience with several hundred amps, mostly refurbishing classics as they pass through the shop. Tube Works MosValve Real Tube RT 2100 Amp Head
